A lesson in humility

by PointlessPeople

It’s no secret that the best part of bicycle travel is the wonderful people you meet by pure chance.

Two days before reaching Fairbanks, Alaska, we were reminded that as bike travelers we are mere beginners. This became quite clear when we during our break bumped into this Swiss family of four. This family has been on the road for nine years, and both of the kids have been born during their trip. The younger one spends their days in the trailer, the older one (six years old) pedals in a kind of tandem formation with mom.

So the next time someone tells us that they can’t go for this reason or that reason even though they want, we will simply point to this family. Somehow they make it work. And that is something that one has to respect!

When there is a will, there is a way.
