Everything was a mess. It always is. We had trained too little, planned too little and slept too little. So really, nothing new. On the other hand we had most of our work done. Which is something kind of new. And in the afternoon our plane would leave.
But on the upside we had our bikes packed by the wonderful people at Pelago, We had a direct flight to JFK, and we had a ride to the airport all arranged. So not all bad. And we had two very nice things to look forward to:
1. A day in New York City, and especially being able to sample the nice vegetarian treats that the city has to offer.
2. Meeting the Barber Family. Our last safe haven before reaching the Pacific.
