We left Manhattan, took a ferry over to Atlantic Highlands in New Jersey and started riding. The first impressions were positive. Even on Manhattan it wasn’t too bad – traffic wasn’t moving at a crazy pace and cyclists were met with respect. At least that’s how it seemed to us. And on the New Jersey side it was even better, as the roads were pretty empty and usually had enough shoulder space for us to ride on.
At the same time we were worried. You can read more about that in other posts. But the gods were smiling at us this day, and sent us straight to the most wonderful vegan bakery ever invented.
The treats we got to enjoy there kept us going for the rest of the day. And we even got ourselves a small going away present: Two bite sized cakes. (Both of which Kaisa ate.)
